The last fortnight has been quite interesting because of the Australian Open ,I've had my fun and my heart breaks through the tournament like the withdrawal of Rafael Nadal in the Quarters after a bad knee which eluded him from defending his crown!! And when Murray cruised to the finals..I thought it was going to be a straight sets or a 4-set victory for Murray!!
I'm just gonna round up the final 2 days of play in this post
Men's Singles (Final) :
Today ,The last day of the Australian Open,the grandslam of Asia/Pacific ,the mens final between Roger Federer and Andy Murray came to end on a wonderful note ,The Magician ,The King ,The best player to set foot on the court ,Roger Federer won the Championship 6-3 6-4 7-6 in a match that nearly went to 3 hours!! It wasnt the scoreline I was expecting after seeing Murray break Federers serve in the 8th game of the 3rd set where Murray looked like he was going to win the match from there ,He showed so much composure through the game but failed to retain serve in the next game which cost him the game ,Had he won that game ,The set was in his pocket and would have left Federer longing for the game to end!!
Mixed Doubles (Final) :
And now to the Mixed Doubles Arena ,Leander Paes and Cara Black took it away in style..Winning the match in just over an hour ,defeating Makarova and Levinsky 7-5 6-3 in style ,It was one helluva game by the mixed doubles team of Paes which won the Aus Open for the first time ,The one that eluded them for more than 4 years of playing together
Men's Doubles (Final) :
The match I was looking forward the most ,The Bryan Brothers vs Nestor and Demonjic...What a game it was ,When the game began , I thought it was going to be one easy game for the no.1 seeds ,but it turned out to be false..The opponents played awesome tennis in the 2nd set and took it to the tie break..And even won it ,but the B2 made a come back in the 3rd to win a beauty of a match with a 6-3 in the last set.!!!
the scores , 6-3 6-7 6-3 , it was a treat to watch but the only problem was that I didnt sleep the last 2 days cause I wanted to watch these games without missing a point!! and I successfully did it
Womens Doubles (Final) :
Serena Vs Henin ,what an helluva game this turned out to be...Actually ,to be honest ,I
wanted Henin to win ,But in a corner of my heart ,I was supporting Serena too...And Serena apparently won the game ,So I dont know if I should be happy for Serena or sad for HeninAnd aboot wat I think about the game ,I'm sure Henin is gonna come back and win the rest of the grandslams this season as she doesnt show one bit of actually losing her previous form!!
the match went on to 3 sets with a score line 6-4 3-6 6-2 ,both the women breaking each other like nobodys business!!!
To conclude this years Australian Open ,I was quite sad when my IDOL ,Rafael Nadal Perera withdrew from the Quarters because of a sore knee ,I was gutted for him really..I sympathize with him and actually want him to fire in all cylinders when he comes back from his injury!!
Whether or not you play Rafa!! We always love you ,I'm sure Federer loves you ,Murray loves you and he said that himself ,Roddick loves you ,Davydenko loves you and we the fans love you more than them!!!
You'd forever stay in our hearts as a player to beat and the best clay court player of all time!!! the 31 game streak which you have in the French Open can be surpassed by none and your streak of 4 French Opens continuous can be done with by none!!!
